Crisis Counsellor, afterhours (part-time)

Auckland Sexual Abuse Help Foundation is looking for a crisis counsellor/therapist to be part of their after-hours Crisis Team.

In this pivotal and challenging role you will work directly with survivors of sexual abuse alongside Police and Medical staff; provide telephone counselling, support and advocacy services.

You must either be qualified or be in your final year of training and have significant prior experience in the social service sector.

Additional training or experience in sexual trauma recovery work
is a definite advantage.

Crisis Co-ordinator (1 FTE)
Auckland Sexual Abuse Help Foundation is seeking a fulltime Crisis Co-ordinator to manage an all women team.

Auckland Sexual Abuse HELP's 24-hour crisis service provides counselling, information, and support to women, children, and families who have experienced sexual violence either recently or in the past. The service includes supporting clients through police reporting procedures and forensic medical examinations.

Relevant experience / skills required:
· Working with survivors of trauma and/or sexual violence and knowledge of   Crisis intervention strategies.
· Have an understanding of effects of sexual violence.
· Articulate thinking around feminist philosophy
· Demonstrate commitment to Te Tiriti O Waitangi.
· Have an understanding and appreciation of teamwork.
· Have excellent communication skills.
· Have a commitment to self-care and boundaries.
· Experience managing and supervising a small team
